octave-audio software package provides functions to work with audio files in Octave, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install octave-audio
octave-audio is installed in your system.
Make ensure the octave-audio package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep octave-audio *
You will get with octave-audio package name, version, architecture and description in a table
